is an award-winning actor, writer, and producer—a “trans influencer of Hollywood.”

Schofield has made television history twice, so far: as the first out transgender man to earn an Emmy nomination for acting, and as the first out transgender actor in Daytime television recurring for 16 episodes as “Nick” on CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful. Recent television roles include “Daniel,” the critics’ favorite Intimacy Coordinator on HBO’s The Idol; “Phil” in Up Here on Hulu; gay, cisgender activist Craig Rodwell in EQUAL on HBO Max; and the mysterious, pivotal figure of “Real Reddington” on NBC’s The Blacklist.

On film, Scott received international critical acclaim for his starring role in the 1920s period drama The Conductor, which enjoyed worldwide theatrical release, including in China and Saudi Arabia. He appeared among an ensemble of transgender luminaries in the acclaimed hybrid documentary No Ordinary Man, which premiered at TIFF in 2021. His one man show special, which he wrote, produced, and starred in, Becoming a Man in 127 EASY Steps, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2020, and was a Special Event at Outfest the same year.

Before Hollywood’s historic “transgender tipping point,” Scott created 3 solo performances, making a role for himself while trans identity excluded his community from mainstream casting. The works toured the US and Europe, with the support of the National Performance Network and the Princess Grace Foundation-USA. He found artistic champions in France, performing (in French) in the Festival d’Avignon mainstage production of Christophe Honoré’s “La Faculté,” directed by Eric Vigner, touring the National Theater system of France for the 2012-13 season. He has since starred in live theater in Los Angels at the Renberg and Kirk Douglas theaters.

A hardworking advocate in the movement to make necessary changes in the entertainment industry, Schofield advises and consults with Hollywood studios, working with actors, producers, casting, creative executives, and more. With 360-degree experience, he brings the expertise necessary to authentic, artistically excellent transgender storytelling, from script to screen.

In 2022, Schofield executive produced Blumhouse’s LGBTQ+ horror THEY/THEM with Kevin Bacon, led the impact campaign for Billy Porter’s groundbreaking YA feature Anything’s Possible, and guided Disney in introducing its first out non-binary character in ZOMBIES 3. Evidence of his work can be seen in Most notably, the role he helps create on HBO’s EUPHORIA has been called “TV’s most interesting trans character” and “the future of TV.”
